POV: 300-Pound 'Hummingbird' Shows up at Backyard Bird Feeder

When Lindsey, who goes by The Superior Gardener on Instagram, bought a hummingbird feeder for her mom, she didn’t realize she’d be attracting bears to the backyard. (Whoops.) She shared a video on Instagram of a large bear standing up and licking the nectar from a bird feeder that’s suction-cupped to her mom’s sliding-glass door. She wrote: “POV: Your mom sends you a video of the new hummingbird feeder you got her.”

In the video, the bear enjoys lapping up the sweet nectar meant for hummingbirds, then turns and leaves. It saunters back down the porch steps and turns the corner as Lindsey’s mom says: “Get!” Lindsey’s hashtags suggest she and her mom live in northern Ontario, Canada.
“Turns out the feeder also attracts 300-pound ‘hummingbirds,'” jokes Lindsey in her Instagram post. The video has nearly 130,000 likes.
